Designs that sparkle, inspire, and represent the sunny and cheerful lifestyle of the California coast are the daily expression of designer Heidi Dobrott. A fifth generation California native, her inspiration comes naturally. Heidi’s designs have been used by well known brands such as Disney, Häagen-Dazs, Host, DesignPac, Columbia Sportswear, Tommy Bahama, and others searching for the right “look” to represent a casual way of life: upbeat, breezy, often kitchy and fun.
The southern California surf and sand lifestyle is one of the most sought after and emulated concepts in contemporary design. Heidi’s inspired artwork is not limited to the coast, it includes a vast range of themes, from scenic to florals… retro to edgy…wonderful effervescent designs that pop with life and vitality.
Heidi graduated from UCLA with a degree in design and graphic arts, followed by several years as an advertising art director and award-winning graphic designer. In the mid-1990’s, she started a successful resort clothing company and spent over a decade in the surf/resort industry creating fabulous prints for fabrics, including a women’s line for Honolulu-based Kahala Sportswear. Today, she is involved with numerous companies developing product from paper goods to home furnishings…anything that is vehicle for great art. Heidi continues to design textile prints and is excited to be a part of Robert Kaufman.
She still spends most of her time living in the California town of Newport Beach on a small island in the middle of the bay, and as much time in the eastern enclave of Mammoth Lakes enjoying the creative simulation of this western most state with all of it’s natural and varied beauty. She shares all of this with her husband, son and dog.
