You&rdquo;ll find his distinctively energetic patterns and retro-inspired designs on Robert Kaufman Fabrics and also on other products such as albums, frames, papers, stamps, and embellishments! <p>Peter has always loved the narrative in design and illustration and enjoys the challenge and opportunity of making colors, textures, words and images work beautifully together. &ldquo;I love well-designed, overlooked, found objects that have true character and an unknown compelling story. I collect old hammers and wooden measuring instruments - if only they could speak of who had owned them and what they have built! I have an appreciation for aged materials such as wood, brick, metal and warped glass. I&rsquo;m inspired by any item that has endured the test of time and that has gracefully worn, peeled, or cracked into a beautiful life of its own, resulting in an even more distinguished look than when it was new. I enjoy and embrace serendipitous findings while exploring different techniques in art. I remember reading somewhere &lsquo;If your looking for fashion, go to an art museum; looking for art, go to a hardware store.&rsquo; Maybe that sums up how I go wandering around for ideas&hellip; and why I collect vintage hammers.&rdquo;</p> <p>Peter has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Point Loma College and continued his Graduate studies at SDSU. He also enjoyed teaching design for a few years at Point Loma College, where seeing the enthusiasm on his student&rsquo;s faces so wonderfully rewarding. He started his own business 6 months out of school and has built a list of some exciting and notable clients over the years including: Saks Fifth Avenue, Guess? Clothing, Bernini Donna, Nordstrom, Disney, Barnes &amp; Noble, Coca-Cola, Nescafe, and Herman Miller. Peter also illustrates for these fine periodicals: Newsweek, Entrepreneur, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
