A graphic designer/illustrator by trade, Cynthia has a unique and funky sense of style and design.
She's had a passion for fabric and sewing since she was very young, and loves to sew, quilt, and create with fabric.
After graduating college with a degree in Graphic and Visual design, she worked through the agency and studio ranks of graphic design, honing her skills and bringing a unique flair to her design and illustration work. She then started her own design company with her husband Norm in 2006, Green Couch Designs, where she offers her creative blend of design and illustration, combined with full service in print, web and blog design and construction, illustration and much more!
"I've always been told people can "see the spirit" in my work. I really love creating and being in my happy place, and seeing people smile when they look at my work."
Along with designing fabric, Cynthia has a love of crafting, sewing and quilting and is a co-founder of the Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild, in B.C. Recently she has been creating her unique mixed media art quilts and has won a few awards and recognition for her work. She also loves scouring thrift shops for vintage fabrics and anything fabulous and 50's retro.
Cynthia was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, and now lives in Mission, B.C. with her husband Norm, dog Starr and cat Bucky. When she's not working, (although it's so much fun it doesn't feel like work!) she enjoys sewing, quilting, and painting, and finds inspiration in everyday things like visits to favorite thrift stores, her garden, and everything in between. She is a self-proclaimed magazine junkie, and loves jellybeans!
