She is a classically trained clarinetist and actress and has appeared on stage, TV and film. After receiving a BA in Theater from Trinity University, Debra obtained a Surface Design Certificate from Otis College of Art and Design and began immediately designing textiles for the swimwear market. She also received honorable mention in the Surtex International Design competition. <p> </p> <p>Debra’s career changed dramatically when she created a Christmas card featuring a cartoon illustration of one of her beloved cats. The card caught the attention of the folks at Robert Kaufman Fabrics and the rest is <em>Catberry Tails</em> history. Oklahoma Embroidery Supply and Design jumped on board the following year.</p> <p>Debra’s next adventure involves the children’s picture book market. She has just completed writing & illustrating <em>My Cat Ben, From Planet of the Cats</em>. She is especially excited to be returning to the writing community. During her years in the entertainment industry she wrote several scripts for TV and served as a story analyst for major production companies.</p> <p><img width="120" height="127" border="0" alt="" src="/assets/images/d_debra_mason_2.jpg" class="l rMarg" />Debra lives in Los Angeles with her husband Ken, a theatre professor, and the gang of cats they rescued from the streets.
