Robert Kaufman Quilt Quest

Margrit Hall, Curator

Margrit was raised in Wyoming and spent her early years on a ranch near Cody. Her family later moved to Casper, Wyoming where she graduated from high school.

Margrit now has over twenty years of experience in instruction and lecturing on the art of quilt making. She possesses an in-depth expertise in the preparation and presentation of programs, classes, and instructional materials. With a college background in Education and Communications, sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge with others was a natural step. Margrit has worked with leading fabric manufacturers in the development of original quilts and patterns to showcase new fabric designs.

Margrit Hall As a former Curator of the Hoffman Challenge, and now the Quilting Events and Special Projects Director for Robert Kaufman Fabrics, Margrit has been exposed to a wide array of fabric artists, viewing works from across the United States and the world.

She also writes a monthly column for the Robert Kaufman Fabrics website, Ask Margrit, in which she addresses questions from quilters and provides tips and tricks she's learned in her many years of quilting, designing, and teaching.

Margrit's experience has given her the perspective of a beginning quilter as well as the subtlety and complexity of the more experienced artist. Her first-hand knowledge of the fabric industry, from manufacture to use, gives her unique knowledge.

Margrit and well-known mystery author Earlene Fowler have developed a book, published by C & T Publishing in 2004. Benni Harper's Quilt Album is a scrapbook of quilts, photos and never before told stories. It has original quilts that match scenes from previously untold stories from the lives of Benni and Gabe.

Margrit is a resident of Orange County, CA, where she lives with her husband David and continues to teach, lecture, and design.
